Detail oriented, but still organic and deconstructed, while still maintaining a subdued color palette, Brooklyn based label In Aisce, offers the best wardrobe for people who won't give into the world of color that drives me sick and border line crazy.
Yes, this may not be at all new, but it's been one of my favorite menswear collections forever, since it's debut in 2008 and just remembered that I haven't posted anything about it. Full of distressed and tribal appeal, this quote sums it all up:
“Organic and sensual hairstyles, intertwinings of hair and textiles, extend each silhouette. These features grant the tribe, which wears them the allure of strange warriors. Tabor’s men seems dressed for the sacred ritual which would mark a return to life after a long silence.”
Talk about modern menswear...wow. Asger Juel Larsen's Fall 11 collection is titled "Uncle Sam", and is based on the blending of cultures and the unpredictable times we live in. He also was inspired by the culture and dress of the 1860's, a time of civil war.
Just like wine, fashion gets better with age. The worn-out appeal of Obscur's SS 10 collection truly follows this statement. Aged leathers, pre-wrinkled fabrics, and raw linens allow the customer to feel and obtain a vintage touch, while still maintaining my favorite fashion term "rawness". Even though this collection isn't current, I'm still obsessed.
